Gilpin County COVID19 Symptom Tracker

Gilpin County Public Health is actively monitoring and responding to COVID19 transmission in our community. Due to a national shortage of testing kits, local public health agencies are not able to offer comprehensive community testing. This symptom tracker is designed to provide a more complete look at illness activity in our community, and your responses will help county and state officials dedicate resources to ensure your needs are being met.

Have you or anyone in your household felt ill at any point since March 1, 2020? Anonymously enter your symptoms to help us track COVID19 in Gilpin County.

RADON AWARENESS - Click for more information !

Across the US, about 6% of homes have unhealthy radon levels. In Colorado, that number increases to 50%. If prolonged exposure to unhealthy radon level occurs, its equivalent to receiving 200 chest x-rays in a year. Radon is a naturally occurring gas that decays into radioactive particles, increasing the risk of lung cancer to those exposed. Radon cannot be seen, smelled or tasted, yet is the leading cause of lung cancer deaths among non-smokers in America. Radon exposure causes as many as 500 lung cancer deaths every year in Colorado.

To protect yourself and your home, test for radon often. Testing is simple and inexpensive and when problems are discovered, they’re much easier to fix than you’d think. Gilpin County Public Health provides a free test kit for residents while supplies last. Stop by to pick up your kit, or call for more information: 101 Norton Dr. Black Hawk, CO 80422 / 303.582.5803
